How does stress affect you? 1 Feb 2014

Stress affects everyone differently. Stress is unavoidable, especially in our fast-paced, ever-changing world.  Our body is built to handle stress and it is always trying to get itself back into balance.

So, listen to yourself - you will know when too much is too much! Some things you can do to help yourself cope with the stress are: breathe deeply, remove yourself from the stressor, exercise and/or massage.

Massage helps to turn 'off' the sympathetic nervous system and turn 'on' the parasympathetic nervous system so you are able to relax. Serotonin and endorphins essential for healthy mental functioning and decreasing depression and anxiety are also secreted to help you feel good.

So, if you haven't yet tried massage to help you deal with stress -try it today.
